Master of Science - Computer Science (MS.COIS)

Trent University’s Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science provides a focused, research-intensive graduate experience under the direct supervision of faculty experts in artificial intelligence, software engineering, cybersecurity, and data science. The program is designed for individuals seeking advanced training in core computer science disciplines, supported by Trent’s strong faculty and guaranteed funding for eligible full-time students.

This two-year, thesis-based program is intended for students who aim to contribute to the advancement of computing through original research. Participants complete four graduate-level courses and a thesis, working closely with a supervisory committee to develop and pursue a research question aligned with faculty expertise. The curriculum fosters both theoretical depth and practical application, offering opportunities to include one course from Trent’s Applied Modelling & Quantitative Methods program to enhance interdisciplinary understanding.

Delivered in person at Trent’s Peterborough campus, the program focuses on advanced topics such as intelligent systems, natural language processing, software testing, database systems, and algorithms.
