Cookie Policy

Last updated • March 15, 2026

This policy explains what cookies are, which ones Fulrez uses, why we use them, and how you control them.

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember you and work properly. Some are essential. Others are optional and only placed with your consent.

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your computer, phone, or tablet when you visit. Cookies are widely used to make websites work correctly, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the owners of the site.

Cookies are not viruses or malware. They cannot execute code or carry viruses. They are data files — nothing more.

In addition to cookies, we may use similar tracking technologies:

  • Local storage: Like cookies but stored in your browser's local storage rather than as a cookie file. Used for remembering preferences like dark or light mode.
  • Session storage: Temporary storage that clears when you close your browser tab. Used for maintaining your state during a single session — for example, keeping your assessment progress if you navigate away and return.
  • Pixels and web beacons: Small invisible images embedded in pages or emails that tell us when a page or email has been opened. Used in email communications to understand whether notifications are being received.

This policy covers all of these technologies when we refer to "cookies" throughout.

2. Why We Use Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, keep the platform secure, and — with your consent — understand how people use the site so we can improve it.

Cookies serve four distinct purposes on the Fulrez platform:

Making the platform work

Some cookies are essential for the platform to function at all. Without them you cannot log in, complete your assessment, upload documents, or use any secure feature of the platform. These cannot be disabled without breaking the service.

Remembering your preferences

Some cookies remember choices you have made — your display mode (dark or light), your language preference, your notification settings — so you do not have to set them again every time you visit.

Keeping the platform secure

Some cookies help us detect and prevent fraud, protect against unauthorised access, and maintain the security of your account and data.

Understanding how the platform is used

With your consent, some cookies help us understand how visitors use the platform — which features are used most, where people drop off, which pages lead to account creation. This data helps us improve the platform over time. This type of cookie is only placed after you give explicit consent.

3. The Cookies We Use

We use four categories of cookies. The first two are always active because they are necessary for the platform to work. The last two are only placed if you consent.

3.1 Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled. Using the Fulrez platform implies acceptance of these cookies.

3.2 Functional cookies

These cookies remember your preferences and personalisation choices. They improve your experience but are not essential. They are placed by default but can be disabled through cookie settings.

3.3 Analytics cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the platform. All data collected is aggregated and anonymised — we cannot identify you from this data.

These cookies are only placed after you give explicit consent through the cookie consent banner.

3.4 Marketing cookies

Fulrez does not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. We do not place cookies for retargeting, behavioural advertising, or tracking you across third-party websites.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some third-party services we use — primarily payment processors and social login providers — place their own cookies. We do not control these. Each provider's privacy policy governs their cookies.

When you use certain features of the Fulrez platform, third-party services may place cookies on your device. These are governed by the third party's own privacy and cookie policies — not ours.

Payment processors

Paystack, Stripe, and Flutterwave place cookies during payment flows to process transactions securely and prevent fraud. These are strictly necessary for payments to work.

Social login providers

If you choose to log in with Google, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram, those platforms may place cookies as part of their authentication process.

Messaging infrastructure

Chatwoot, which powers our WhatsApp and social media messaging integration, may place functional cookies related to the chat interface.

5. Your Cookie Choices

You can control non-essential cookies through our cookie settings panel — accessible from the banner on first visit or from the link in the footer at any time. You can also use your browser settings to manage cookies directly.

5.1 Cookie consent banner

When you first visit Fulrez, a cookie consent banner is displayed. You can Accept all cookies, Accept necessary only, or Customise preferences. Your choice is remembered for 12 months.

5.2 Changing your preferences

You can update your cookie preferences at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page.

5.3 Browser-level controls

All modern browsers allow you to control cookies through browser settings. You can block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, or delete existing cookies.

5.4 Consequences of disabling cookies

Disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the platform. Disabling functional cookies means your preferences will not be remembered.

5.5 Do Not Track

Fulrez honours the "Do Not Track" signal by not placing analytics cookies when enabled, regardless of your consent preference.

6. Cookie Consent for Different Regions

The rules around cookie consent vary by location. We apply the strongest applicable standard to all users regardless of where they are.

Rather than applying different standards by location, Fulrez applies the most protective standard to all users globally. Non-essential cookies require explicit opt-in consent from all users regardless of location (complying with EU GDPR, UK GDPR, and Nigeria NDPR).

7. Changes to This Policy

When our cookie use changes we update this policy and the last-updated date. For significant changes we will re-request consent.

We may update this Cookie Policy when we add new cookies, remove existing cookies, or change how we use them. For material changes, we will update the date and display the consent banner again.

8. Contact

For questions about our use of cookies, contact us via email or post. To exercise your data rights more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.
