Program Overview

The MSc Software Engineering program examines current research and practice in software engineering. Students will develop knowledge and skills in the models, methodologies, measures and tools that can be employed in software development considered as an engineering discipline. This course provides students with a specialism combining theoretical knowledge and practical skills in advanced computer science.

Classes consist of lectures, small group seminars, and practical work in well-equipped laboratories with modern, industry-standard software, specialist facilities for networking and multimedia and a project space especially for masters students. In addition to scheduled classes, learners can go for self-study, taking advantage of the extensive and up-to-date facilities like the Learning Resource Centres open 24x7 with 1,500 computer workstations and Wi-Fi access; and Studynet, a versatile online study environment usable on and off campus.

Software Engineering MSc program is accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS) enabling graduates to register at The Chartered Institute for IT as a Chartered IT Professional. Graduates work as Business Analysts, Consultants, Software Engineers, and Application Developers for organizations including Capgemini, Optoma Technology, and Ocado.
